These letters began with my animals — Toy, Thunder, Breeze, and River — but they’re not just my stories.
Almost everyone who loves animals has that one: the dog who stayed by their side through something hard. The cat who arrived out of nowhere and never left. The one who changed everything.
As you read, I hope you’ll think of your Toy — the animal who carried you through, made you laugh when nothing else did, or showed you what love without conditions really looks like.
We all carry one in our hearts.
